Drum-and-bass, anyone?

I could well be the oldest living drum-n-bass fan. Whenever possible, I'm tuned into BassDrive. There's something about that music that helps me focus on what I'm doing. I think there's two things about it that really help me out...
  • Slows down time: Sometimes the music goes so fast it's almost overwhelming. Once you calm down and let it get into you everything seems to go slower.
  • Occupies your brain: I am so easily distracted that I often find myself doing something totally different from what I started out doing. Drum-n-bass has a way of filling all the available resource of your brain so that you can focus on one or two things.
Anyway, just my opinion. Electronic music has always been my thing. I was a producer of techno at one time and was pretty close to starting a record label. The jungle/dnb thing is just the next evolution of techno, putting more emphasis on the complex drums and creating a wider variety of moods from fusion to industrial to sensual to almost demonic flavors with just some basic synth and alot of effects and processors.
