You know the whole "sins of the father" thing?
I made the mistake of "re-introducing" a little known prank that my junior high school colleagues and I used to partake of (hell no I'm not mentioning what it is here!), which never failed to get us in trouble with the school. And now I'm regretting it because it has grown to epidemic proportions in my kids' schools.
It was one of those things where we're all at the dinner table talking about rude and obnoxious things that my kids' friends were doing to people, when without giving it a second thought I just blurted out "That's nothing! When I was your age we used to...", followed by "..and we got in SO much trouble!"
Well, apparently, that was my kids' cue to bring forth a revival of biblical proportions, of said prank, in my neighborhood. It wouldn't surprise me if there's a 20/20 episode dedicated to this phenomenon on TV soon.
Bottom line: watch what you tell your kids about your past. :-(
